What is a CFCP?
A CFCP is a Certified Financial Collection Professional as designated by the
International Center of Professional Collections. The CFCP
designation requires the successful completion of the PACE
program.
-
Who should be interested
in this program?
This program is designed for those responsible for collecting money
owed to their firms. If you want to communicate, negotiate and
collect money more efficiently, regardless of your experience level,
this program is for you.
-
I have someone new in the
department who has never collected before. Will he be a pro after
finishing this course?
There is a lot to be said for experience in any field and
collections is not any different. Your 'new collector' will get
better as he learns from success as well as the occasional mistake.
The PACE program will not give years or even months of
experience, but it will help to get the new collector up to the optimum
speed as quickly as possible. When certified by ICPC, you will have
reasonable assurance that your new collector has been fully tested
and knows not only the rules and guidelines, but can reasonably put
effective collection techniques into place in your business.
-
What is the criteria for
registration – are there restrictions?
Anyone can register for the program provided that they indicate that
they have read and agree to the terms of service, make a
selection of their specialization (Commercial or Consumer) and pay the registration fee.
-
How do I register?
Click on the ‘Register Now’ button on the left of this screen.
Please ensure that you read the agreement and make your appropriate
selections. Send in your application along with your fee and you
will hear back from us within 48 hours.
-
What is the fee?
The full package of the discipline of either Consumer or Commercial
collection is $595.00 Canadian or U.S. and applicable taxes are
additional. An individual may add the second program at half price
for a total of $895.00.
-
Is there a guarantee?
Our program is full guaranteed to deliver as promised. However, it
is adult education and requires involvement and commitment in order
to successfully complete the program.
-
Is there real testing?
Yes, there is. The program requires effort and study on the part of
students but is not designed for failure. Except for the last test
which can be taken only twice, students may repeat a test until they
achieve a passing grade as long as it is within six months of
registration.
-
What is the last test and
what happens if I fail?
The last test is a live role-play exercise between the participant
and an ICPC instructor who plays the part of one of your customers. The call is
recorded and a copy is provided to the participant along with the
instructors comments and suggestions.
A passing grade of 85% is required on this test and the student can
take it twice. If the minimum pass has not been achieved after the
second test, the student may re-register to study and pass again
within a three month period at 40% of the initial registration rate.
-
Do you keep track of
graduates?
Yes. ICPC keeps an official record of all graduates of the PACE
Program© and will confirm certification to employers or potential
employers as requested.
-
How much time do I have
to complete the program?
Most Students will complete the studies and achieve certification
within a few weeks. Each student is expected to complete all studies
and testing within six months from the registration date.
-
Is there a discount for a
team that wants to complete the PACE Program©?
Every tenth person from the same company may register free.
-
Can the
PACE Program©
be tailored for our company?
Yes. Our training and development team can work with your company to
develop and certify your trainers and your program. This includes
review and re-certification once each year.
-
Is distance learning
right for me?
If you are self-motivated and can fit the course into your schedule,
distance learning is an excellent option for you. However, it does
call for initiative and time management skills. You will receive a
list of suggestions from our training faculty to help you get the
very best out of the PACE Program© , but ultimately – you set
the pace and determine your success.
-
How does this course
compare to attending a seminar?
The Center encourages students and graduates to continue to
develop their expertise through further education, including
seminars and conferences. However, at most seminars, everyone who
simply attends, receives a certificate, whether they
participate and learn or not.
The participants in the PACE
Program© are taken through a more comprehensive series
of modules and they are tested for their knowledge and understanding
of the concepts and the techniques of successful collections. There
is no free lunch and nobody can hide in the PACE Program©.
-
What are the advantages
of taking this course vs. attending a seminar.
The name tells you a lot. Students are allowed to 'pace' their
learning at work or in the privacy and convenience of their own
home. Take extra time when you need it or, if you prefer, complete
the program in a short period of time. It's your call.
Upon successful completion of the course, students become a
CFCP (Certified Financial Collection Professional) the only designation of its
kind in North America.
-
When will I receive my
login, password, and instructions for my course?
You should receive this information within 48 hours of successful
registration.
-
Who do I contact if I am
having problems?
If you are having any problems with the course or have additional
questions, please contact:
administrator@incproco.com
or telephone (416) 691-2648.
-
Who developed the PACE
Program and who does the testing.
The initial concept was developed by Tim Paulsen, author of “Paid in Full”.
It has been reviewed by professional trainers in the field and
vetted by the advisory board. The testing is completed by ICPC
management/trainers who have a minimum average of 15 years in the
credit/collection field.
-
Do I need a special
textbook for the PACE Program?
Everything you need for the program is included in your registration
fee.
You will be directed to a site where you can download a zip file
that will get you started on your studies. It includes a workbook
for direction and taking notes. Your registration includes a minimum
of three e-books on collections and the authorization to make one
copy of any of the books for your study or personal use.
-
How are tests for the
program administered?
There are different formats including multiple-choice, fill-in the
blank and assignments. Though there is flexibility with the program,
students are expected to complete the study and all testing within
six months from the registration date.
-
How will I know when I
have completed a course?
The My Report page will have two sections: Started and
Completed and it will include modules as well as testing.
-
What technology do I
need?
You will need an e-mail address and access to a computer. Many of
the studies are presented in a power-point format. The e-books may
be accessed via ADOBE, a free down-load from the Internet if you do
not already have it on your system.
-
How long is my certification as a professional collector?
Your CFCP is valid for a five year period and then updated testing
in your field (consumer or commercial) is required. Re-certification
is valid for another five year period and the testing and validation
fee is $45.00.
